EXAMPLES OF MULTI-TEAM TEAMBUILDING OR PARTNERING
Here are some of the multi-party team-building/partnering sessions Creighton has conducted:
- Fort Ord Base Closure Team: Facilitate monthly meetings for a three-agency team (U.S. Army, California Department of Toxic Substance Control, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) managing the cleanup of ordnance and explosives at the former Fort Ord, Monterey, CA).
- Central Arizona Water Control Study: Conducted a team building session involving the Bureau of Reclamation, Corps of Engineers, Dames & Moore, and other subcontractors involved in conducting a $10 million planning/EIS study.
- San Joaquin Valley Drainage Study: Conducted a team building session for an interagency team involving representatives from the Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, California Department of Fish & Game, and California Department of Fish & Game. Subsequently facilitated a number of team meetings, and actually prepared the first draft of the team's draft report, on behalf of the team.
- Ventura County Solid Waste: Ventura County and the Ventura Regional Sanitation District were at loggerheads over disposal of solid waste in the county. Participants included several department heads from the county (solid waste, health, and environmental regulation) and department heads from the sanitation district. Creighton conducted a series of 1 or 2-day sessions which produced agreements for how the team would work together, and a proposal for creation of a single entity responsible for managing solid waste planning. Subsequently he facilitated negotiations between the County Board of Supervisors, City Councilmen from various cities in Ventura County, the Sanitation District, and stakeholder groups. These negotiations led to an agreement, formally ratified by the state legislature, creating a county solid-waste authority.
